that there's a bird

living inside

a gilded cage

Who could have thought

a woman so beautiful

having most things

 is lonely and sad

Who could have imagined

someone so selfless

living a boring life

of total sacrifice

Who could have chanced upon

one time a maiden so happy

now turned angry

unappreciated

If only they know the plight

of a woman once highly

loved and appreciated

 now a bird in a cage
